Fulfil a Sick Child’s Last Wish

24 November 2007 No Comment

Despite losing her daughter to a bacterial infection last year, Natalia Tjahja bounced back from her grief to do something close to her heart - set up the Maria Monique Foundation LastWish. Through fulfilling their wishes, she wants to bring hope to terminally ill children. She has already reached out to 1,300 children in countries such as Indonesia, China and Vietnam and now plans to spread the joy in Singapore.

An extract from Natalia:

“Another child I met was in the ICU. He had been in a coma for 12 days and the doctors gave him only one month to live. When I visited him, I whispered in his ear that we will buy him a bicycle.

Soon he came out of the coma and returned home with a bicycle. He passed away seven months later. All this is a miracle, no?”
