Are you guilty of treating your man as a walking ATM?

28 November 2007 9 Comments

I was reading a blog I saw from Fitti’s blog and was quite turned off. This girl has branded stuff peppered like in every post all over her blog and toots every other post that her husband loves her so much, he insists on her buying things, he spoils her rotten, he pampers her like a princess etc. The list goes on and on in EVERY post. It’s the same. Tooting, flaunting and posturing about her branded gifts from the husband. And it’s not the shopping, but the over “rub it in your face” eagerness to impress that makes me feel that she has severe self esteem issues. Of course that will be my last visit to that particular blog.
Now please don’t get me wrong, I have no objections to branded stuff whatsoever. I love good designer bags and shoes for their quality and for the design. I love fashion. I buy some of my own stuff and Big buys some for me to pamper me. But to center your entire existence on trying to get acceptance and trying to impress with branded stuff is so very sad.

I wonder if she loves the branded stuff more or the husband more.

I think this post says it the best for me.

My posts about the someone in my life is not about all that shite.

The purpose of my blogging about the nice things he has done for me, the sweetness with which he gives in to me on some issues, and the imperturbable temper (what temper?) he has, as opposed to my nasty spoilt brat tantrums at times, is just that.

To remind myself that he is such a sweet, nice and lovable gem.

To remind myself not to take him for granted.

To remind myself to appreciate him for what he is.

Just because you can, doesn’t mean you have to.

Shelly: tsk tsk. Come here let me punish you a little.

fitti: Your blog not secret right? Linky love ok.. :) Yep, I cannot stand people like that, fake and posturing. Lots of these types in fashion. And excuse me, a new house is better than a lousy pair of Louboutins ANYTIME. :P

barffie: Fine. I ask NG to give you an atm machine for Xmas. :P

Angelia:I see where you are coming from. Come on, look at my blog, I am also guilty of designer addiction but I don’t envy her at all. I just thought her desperation for acceptance and need to toot in every post is quite sad. I know taitais who definitely can afford to buy a Chanel every week and yet they don’t rub it in your face..maybe I fan jian lah, I enjoy the power of having the option to buy my own stuff or to be pampered by the man. :) OK *retracts claws*

I think most women loves designer stuff..True lah…I spend most of my own moolah on my bags and clothes which is why I’m perpetually broke hehe..Hub will spurge only if there’s a reason too (eg. anniversary). He doesn’t understand why our bags cost so much!

My bf is very much like Angelia’s hubby, will only splurge on special dates like birthdays. Sexy mama, a house is a necessity leh, plus hor, I am paying for it as well. You are very blessed, nowadays, very few men are as sensitive to the partner’s needs like Mr Big. Very happy for you, really! =)
