20 Lessons I have learnt from the Blogosphere Part 1
Sometimes you (I) need to take a chill pill.
Sometimes when no matter how you explain, the other party cannot seem to understand what on earth you are talking about, take a chill pill.
You can’t make everyone like you.
You learn things you might not have known by keeping an open mind during a discussion.
If you find that the discussion is going no where but downhill, remember point 3, and then proceed to point 1.
What’s humorous to you might be misleading to someone …

Somemore have Superman and his red brief one… MDA so happening!!
Balderdash has the full lyrics.
It is so painful to watch that I got angrier as the video progressed. This is how they are spending public money. On self gratification (look Ma, I’m a RAP STAR!) and amateurish “song” writing efforts. Even my daughter’s school skit is more enjoyable than this is. Considering how good the MDA is at cutting out parts of others’ movies, they should have done the most important cut in their career: the entire cut of …

Despite losing her daughter to a bacterial infection last year, Natalia Tjahja bounced back from her grief to do something close to her heart - set up the Maria Monique Foundation LastWish. Through fulfilling their wishes, she wants to bring hope to terminally ill children. She has already reached out to 1,300 children in countries such as Indonesia, China and Vietnam and now plans to spread the joy in Singapore.
An extract from Natalia:
“Another child I met was in the ICU. He had been in a coma for 12 days and …

From my understanding of the incident, the special needs students were not rowdy and they did not create any public nuisance of themselves. I used to see people staring at disabled people like they are some kind of unleashed animals when I was volunteering with them. There is certainly more to be done about educating the public and increasing the society’s acceptance towards a different people.
From another POV, is this another instance …

Chee Siok Chin of Singapore Democrat Party (sister of Chee Soon Juan) and John Tan were on their way to having a meal at Shangri-La at Orange Grove Road when they were stopped and manhandled into an unmarked vehicle to be taken away. I know some lousy summit is going on there but seriously.
Once again, foreign press will have a field day dissing our human rights stand (what human rights?) and paranoia of the opposition.
Is this another way of fixing the opposition? If so, I am afraid it has …

I look at the boys in my neighbourhood, also around the ages of 7 - 9, playing with their bicycles and their gameboys, and I cannot imagine any one of them doing such a beastly deed. My elder girl is 9. Should I as a mother be paranoid?
Ger knows all about the birds and the bees as I don’t believe in keeping such things secret from the children. Better to hear the facts from their mother than to learn some distorted version from their peers. And she knows what is …

What is the education system of Singapore coming to?? That parents are pressurized to do “PV” (an uniquely Singaporean concept of parents volunteering at the school to try for a place) for their kids. That a professional like a lawyer would do something like lie and manipulate his way into getting a place for his daughter in a top school.
I sent my elder girl to CHIJ Kellock, not a “top school” but a very good school nevertheless that instill the values of integrity, character and resilience in their girls, primarily …
