So many things to do, so little time!!

1 March 2008 8 Comments

So much had happened over the last few days that I don’t know where to and how to begin.

But I shall.

Monday I flew to BKK and embarked on a frenzied buying and sourcing mission for Xtralicious Shop. On Tuesday I was swimming with the sharks (think scammers) and played them at their own game. Shall not talk too much about this lest Big gives me the jaundiced eye again… He was quite upset with me after I finished narrating my tale to him..

I flew back on Wednesday after two very lonely nights in a quiet little boutique hotel room..

Only $40 a night! Am very proud of myself for getting a room that is clean, cheap and near the malls I want to go to.. Breakfast included too!!

Some of the cable TV channels are dubbed in Thai. LOL. I can speak a smattering of pidgin Thai. The locals don’t believe I am not Thai! Which is good as I get “local” prices. Hahahaha!!

Pretty lamps that swayed slightly when I switch on the aircon…

Very Norman Bates!! You see the photos below… very “Psycho-ish” motel. Hahaha!!

See!!

*Psycho music*

No lifts ok.. and I was staying on the third floor.. never mind I need the exercise anyway..

Very rustic decor.. I feel so relaxed and at ease in this simple surrounding..

Alfresco settings

I barely had the time to unpack and do my business expenses, list out the purchases, take photos etc when I had to go back to work for two more days. The last two days.

I put in so much for that job, and that I am really leaving, it feels really sad in a way. I hope my replacement can handle the boss. After all, I know all his “patterns” and how difficult he can be. But I really believe that I am stronger and tougher after his “guerilla” training and like what the industry people say, if you can survive a year with him you can make it anywhere.. I got a second call from a very famous fashion house (I did not accept the first offer) and will be meeting them on Monday to see where it goes. I feel thankful and grateful to my boss for giving my the opportunity into the fashion industry and am genuinely fond of him. I did not realize how much till that day he made me cry with a sms. We were conversing on work updates and I replied with a “ok boss”.

His reply: “Not for much longer. Sigh.”

We were outside at Havelock Road having porridge and yet the tears just flowed.

Sigh.

Shucks. On to happier thoughts before I wimp out again.

Oriental Express in the middle of no where! I was just walking and minding my own business when suddenly the the train started whizzing past me. No barrier, no signs, no warning.

Free and easy traffic in BKK

My first time taking tuktuk… and all by myself… was clutching my purchases and my bag tightly *paranoid* LOL

nadnut: I stayed at Moeleng Boutique. But a note of caution… many taxi and tuktuk drivers don’t know where it is. If you want to stay there, pls bring a printed map whenever you head uot, or try to remember the directions.. :)
