I have noticed she doesn't have many opportunities to lead except in her home with her kiddies. I have noticed people who usually do not have many opportunities to lead usually misfire when they are put in this sort of situations. Often their reading of the terrain is poor and judgement correspondingly bad. IMO she should not have insisted, she was right to have done what she did.
