The Online Citizen - Bloggers speak up about Public Transport at Speaker’s Corner

16 September 2008 No Comment

Last Saturday saw 6 bloggers speaking up against the public transport fare hike at the Speaker’s Corner.

The six speakers were Mr Choo Zheng Xi, Chief Editor of The Online Citizen (TOC); Mr Leong Sze Hian, President of the Society of Financial Service Professionals; Mr Bernard Chen, Secretary of the Workers’ Party Youth Wing; Mr Goh Meng Seng, member of the National Solidarity Party; Dr James Gomez, member of the Workers’ Party; and Mr Gerald Giam, Deputy Editor at TOC.

Selene Cheng has done a comprehensive coverage in TOC - click to read.

I think it is a great effort for TOC to put their money where their mouth is. To take the initiative and opportunity to submit a paper and organize a forum in its whole works is no mean feat. Bearing in mind that these folks are not paid and that the infrastructural and logistical issues are all taken on themselves, they have my deepest respect.

I am extremely proud to be their columnist.
