As of 9 October 2008, the AVA has detected melamine in three additional products imported from China. Two of the products contain milk as an ingredient while the third is meant for manufacturing use and is not available in the retail market. They are
i) Cadbury Choclairs - Blueberry Flavour;
ii) Cadbury Choclairs - Coffee Flavour; and
iii) Panda Dairy Whole Milk Powder (industrial pack).
This brings the total number of affected products to 13. All importers will be required to destroy the tainted products under AVA’s supervision. The other …

See now, it is the patient’s fault for not describing in detail how the injury happened - she also should have told the doctor that there might be a twig in her foot. The referral letter which said she was cut by a twig was evidently not clear enough. It’s also her fault for not going back to the very same doctor who was unable to diagnose her condition when the same foot condition worsened.
At some point, Associate Professor Eillyne Seow might want to take her foot out of her …

What is Melamine? It’s a cheap compound composing of nitrogen, carbon and hydrogen. When combined with formaldehyde and exposed to extreme heat, melamine creates a moldable material that, when cooled, is virtually unbreakable and dishwasher-safe. As a plastic it is very safe, but it is dangerous when ingested over time.
Due to its high content of nitrogen, it has been added to milk in the milk powder scandal in China to fool the detection devices …

That’s a nice poof of smoke! A good healthy dose of toxic second hand smoke for your child!
Look at how intently the kid is, looking at the mother smoking merrily away.
Starting young, thanks to mama.
I hate it when parents smoke in front or near their children. I hate it even more when mothers do it ala Britney, or worse, smoke when they are pregnant (some “warped” idea that a mother is the caregiver or nurturer and therefore should know better)
My dad was a smoker too, but he will go out …

That’s how I feel after eating HALF a bowl of rice for dinner
Seriously. I don’t know what is wrong with me. I am talking about serious lethargy here. It’s always after I have had carbs, even though it is a minimal amount.

Yesterday I was doing the labels for my MMU on the Brother Labelling Machine (yeah, yeah, I am hopeless) in front of the TV and watching a new series on Channel U called “Perfect Cut”. It’s a “local take” on Nip/ Tuck. Yeah, our “creative” friends at Mediacorp are constantly “borrowing” ideas from Taiwan, US and the latest I heard, from Japan. Ah well.
Anyway, I enjoy shows with medical themes like Grey’s Anatomy, ER, Nip/ Tuck (though the latest season kind of sucks).
Perfect Cut is not too bad, given that …

Via Sheylara
Sheylara’s friend, Jesta, has a very beautiful baby girl named Natalie. For the past six months, Natalie, who is all of six months old, had gone through numerous surgeries to correct her cleft lip. While I will not dare to claim that I understand how Jesta feels, I can certainly empathize.
I think of them having to handle the terrifying emotions of having their baby go through not one but numerous surgeries - and which will carry on throughout her life till she is 18, and the pain of their …

So we packed the kids off to swim/soccer camp. June and December are months where the equivalent amount of a third world country’s GDP is spent on camps, holiday activities and what nots for the children. This June we are not going away on a long holiday… as… we will be moving to a new place.

I don’t know about you, but I hate moving. Sure, I love the moving to a bigger and nicer place part, but I dread the packing, wrapping, labelling, unpacking and sorting. It’s only with the …
