An invitation to bloggers

Dear Bloggers:

We have daily visitors in the order of a few thousands. The daily number of pages viewed has exceeded 20,000. Any article reposted in Singapore Kopitiam will gain you instant exposure to a few thousands more readers. You can get instant feedback to your opinions and views expressed. You can also join the debate and clarify your thoughts.

Since Sammyboy.com's Alfresco Coffee Shop was unplugged on 6 August 2008, Singapore Kopitiam has stepped in to replace it and to provide a cyber kopitiam for netizens (both Singaporeans and ex-Singaporeans) to meet, exchange ideas/opinions, and discuss any thing and every thing under the sun. It does provide an important link to the blogosphere community where public opinions are shaped and refined.

There is no waiting period for you to register an online moniker and to start posting your articles. In the spirit of free speech, there is no censorship or moderation.

Why don't you give it a try today? You would be surprised how effective it can be to reach out to your next few thousands readers, as many bloggers already discovered!

Regards
Singapore Kopitiam

An emotional Jannie Tay, President of Singapore Retailers Association, appearing outside Court House, as captured by Channel News Asia, remarked “Why should he be jailed at all?” It was an exceptionally shameful outburst! Didn’t she know the law at all? Must the law be bent to suit the rich? Didn’t she know that the Indonesian donor who received not a single cent but was sentenced to 2 weeks’ jail? I sympathized more with the Indonesian. What a world of difference- poor and helpless versus rich and powerful!

Becoz some people more 'equal' than others.

I don't need politicians to talk so much. Talk is cheap. Just walk the talk (eg gracious society, openness, etc). It hurts whenever I see this injustice.

What to do? Let's move on.

*still shaking head in disbelief*

buried deep within the straits times today - a man was jailed 7 months for opening an unlicenced massage parlour. He has end stage cancer too and was probably desperately at wits ends trying to make a living. Ah hell, that is Singapore - one country, 2 systems. Bet you in that case, there were no 50 family members, no Jannie Tay speaking up for that poor sod.

Haha, well yes but for some people, a teacher's dressing is a clear indicator of his / her ability to teach. :D

Anyway, of course there is a line but there is also a lot of grey areas.

I enjoy your blog too!

Hi Piper

Nobody is perfect - not me not you, nobody. It would be too much to ask that of a teacher. However I think you'll agree with me there is an unspoken proverbial line.

To be very honest, a teacher's dressing is the least of my concerns.

Thanks for dropping by. I have always enjoyed reading your blog very much.

Beau

It's a new initiative by the government to encourage green living. Peaceful and serene place to spend a day with the family.

There's a Thai restaurant there - KHA, a bit on the pricey side though. It'll be nice to pack a picnic basket and lounge on the lawn. :)
